Title: Outside Salesperson
Location: New York

Parts Authority is actively seeking outside sales team members to be part of our winning team! As an Outside Salesperson, you will be responsible for sales growth through current relationships as well as development of new business.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • Make sales calls on installers, fleets, municipalities and car dealerships to sell auto parts, tools, shop equipment and programs
  • Build and maintain productive, long lasting relationships with existing customers, as well as actively pursue new customers
  • “Get the Sale!” -Develop and implement strategies to achieve sales goals; source new sales opportunities and close sales to achieve goals
  • Foster and qualify new sales opportunities with new and existing customers
  • Ride with factory reps in order to gain product knowledge as well as use their relationships to help build yours
  • Provide weekly status reports to management team describing current business conditions, including opportunities and suggestions for improvement. Post daily CMS comments for each sales call with a brief summary of visit or touch.
  • Play a key role in increasing income and revenue by managing and negotiating with clients, generating leads, qualifying prospects and managing sales of products
  • Research sales competition
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales in a highly competitive market; prior success selling wholesale auto parts particularly in aftermarket industry preferred
  • Experience in prospecting new business and closing sales with installers, fleets, municipalities and car dealerships a plus
  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Existing customer base
  • Time and territory management skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Formal education in sales/ technical related area highly desirable
  • Knowledgeable and Passionate about exceptional customer service and exceeding sales goals
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting business relationships
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
  • Position requires an individual with an outgoing and assertive personality to take initiative, be pro-active, be very positive, and have a “can-do / seize-the- day” type attitude. Must be results focused, a producer, a closer who is committed to growth.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications, specifically MS Word and Excel
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/ or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) a plus
  • General automotive knowledge helpful
